Left unites to threaten Macron in parliamentary vote

Having beaten the far right to retain the presidency in April, France's leader Emmanuel Macron is facing an unexpected challenge from a former Marxist on the far left.

All players are 100% financially secured with xo wallet a quality auto deposit system, made easy on their own, not through agents, and then have easy-to-understand labor functions.

A new five-party alliance led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon is expected to make sweeping gains in legislative elections here on Sunday, possibly even blocking the government's majority in France's 577-seat National Assembly.

And, with the directness that he's known for, Mr Mélenchon, who leads the far-left La France Insoumise (France Unbowed) party, has chosen a simple slogan for his campaign posters: "Mélenchon: prime minister."

"The threat is clearly there. If we look at the polls, we are very close," government candidate Paul Midy told me, as he chatted to voters at a market in Essonne, south of Paris.

Mr Midy is running as a candidate for President Macron's centrist alliance Ensemble! (Together).

While purchasing power remains the core concern at a national level, voters here in Essonne were very concerned about green issues, he told me, especially the opening of a new science research institute next to fertile farmlands.

"We [host] Paris Saclay, one of the major innovation clusters in the world, with thousands of researchers; it's our French Silicon Valley," Mr Midy explained. "We need to develop it, but we also need to protect all the farmlands around it."

The Queen and Northern Ireland through the years

The Queen has made 25 visits to Northern Ireland, including three before she ascended to the throne.

ทางเข้าslotxo The bonus isn't going anywhere. The timing is definitely ours. Let's all calm down and good luck with our game.

She was 19 years old when, as Princess Elizabeth, she visited Stormont with her father, King George VI, and her mother Queen Elizabeth.

The royal visit in 1945 also included trips to Belfast City Hall, Queen's University and Botanic Gardens.

At the time, Northern Ireland, like the rest of the United Kingdom, was recovering from World War Two.

Further visits by the young princess followed in 1946 and 1949.

Her father died in 1952 and after an extended period of mourning, Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in June 1953 and subsequently went on a coronation tour.

She went to Hillsborough Castle, accompanied by her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

The royal couple were greeted by two Lambeg drummers. One of the drums was preserved and played again outside the castle last year as a tribute to Prince Philip on the day of his funeral.

With Belfast renowned for its shipbuilding, the Queen was asked to launch the passenger liner Southern Cross at Harland and Wolff shipyard in August 1954.

The royal couple did not visit Northern Ireland again until the summer of 1961, when they arrived at Carrickfergus on the Royal Yacht Britannia.

Continuing the travel theme, the Queen officially opened a Belfast bridge named in her honour in July 1966.

Foxconn predicts more stable supply chain in the second half of 2022

Taiwan's Foxconn, the world's largest contract electronics maker, said on Tuesday that the second half of the year is heading "in a better direction" as Shanghai's COVID-19 lockdown appears to be easing.

เกมสล็อตวอลเล็ต In the early days, you're probably so addicted to the fun of the game that you don't want to get off the screen. Sometimes you play tired brain and body.

"We are quite confident in the stability of our supply chain for the second half of this year," Foxconn chairman Liu Young-way told the company's annual shareholder meeting.

Foxconn is aiming to become the first electric vehicle (EV) maker "not short on material supplies", Liu said, referring to a prolonged global chip shortage that has forced carmakers to halt production and hurt smartphone production including for Apple Inc, a major client.

"A car that costs tens of thousands of dollars cannot be shipped because of a tiny chip worth fifty cents. This has been a pain for our customers," he said.

Foxconn is aiming to capture around 5 per cent of the global electric vehicle market by the end of 2025 and has said it is hoping to boost its capacity to make EV chips, many of which are small lower-end integrated circuits including those used in power management.

The company warned this month that revenue for its electronics business including smartphones could slip this quarter due to rising inflation, cooling demand and escalating supply chain issues partly due to lockdowns in China.

Man guilty of panning for gold in Afon Wen

A man has been found guilty of illegally panning for Welsh gold during a trip to Snowdonia.

สล็อตฝากวอเลท We have to get used to it until the kind who knows the rhythm of the press and knows how to throw away some range. There is no need to press consecutively, many people tend to think that the dealer likes to set up slots to cheat us.

Brian Wright, from Oxfordshire, was found with a jar of gold dust near Dolgellau, Gwynedd, which he had collected on his trip last August.

The 65-year-old, who had denied the offences, claimed he had been showing an enforcement officer how to pan for gold.

He was fined £600 at Llandudno Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Welsh gold has been used in royal wedding rings including those of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The so-called "Dolgellau gold-belt" is said to stretch almost to Trawsfynydd from Cardigan Bay.

Dafydd Roberts, prosecuting, told the court a sign at Afon Wen, near Dolgellau, Gwynedd, had outlined panning for gold was banned, but that Wright was filmed carrying out the activity.

However, Wright, of Henley-on-Thames, said: "It's my belief that sign is incorrect. I believe I know how the regulations should be interpreted."

Mr Roberts claimed Wright had alleged he was "set up" by Natural Resources Wales (NRW) when they filmed him and that he was not panning at the time.

Patrick Gartland, defending, said the court had to be satisfied his client was gold-panning on two days last summer, 18 and 19 August.

Wright sought to promote the cultural element of gold-panning, he said.

China is looking less attractive to foreign investment

In the 85 years since Carl Crow, a Shanghai-based American advertising executive, wrote these words in his book Four Hundred Million Customers, China’s population has grown by 1 billion people. Their combined spending power is now second only to that of Americans.

Yet the gulf between promise and reality in China’s fabled market haunts foreign corporations as much today as when Crow was trying to market American lipstick and French brandy to the emerging middle class of the 1930s. A host of political and regulatory issues — exacerbated by Chinese President Xi Jinping’s strict zero-COVID policies and his stance over Russia’s war in Ukraine — are conspiring to eviscerate the dreams of many multinationals.

The result is that direct investment into China by foreign companies is falling off a cliff. Joerg Wuttke, president of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Beijing, says the unpredictability is prompting the European business community to put investments into China “on hold”.

“Many of our members are now taking a wait-and-see approach to investments in China,” he adds, citing an attitudes survey in May of the chamber’s 1,800 members. “Twenty-three per cent of our members are now considering shifting current or planned investments out of China, the highest level on record. And 77 per cent report that China’s attractiveness as a future investment destination has decreased.”

All of this may portend a fundamental shift in how the global economy works. For decades, China has been one of the hottest destinations for Western multinationals seeking to offshore manufacturing operations or ramp up sales in the world’s biggest emerging market.

In 2020 it passed a milestone, overtaking the US as the world’s leading destination for new foreign direct investment (FDI), according to United Nations data. Now a reversal seems to be underway. A tally of greenfield foreign investment projects — which includes new factories and other plans announced by foreign companies — showed the lowest quarterly total in the first quarter of 2022 since records began in 2003, according to fDi Markets, a Financial Times database.

Large convoy from Mariupol reaches safety, refugees talk of 'devastating' escape

A large convoy of cars and vans carrying refugees from the ruins of Mariupol arrived in the Ukrainian-controlled city of Zaporizhzhia on Saturday (May 14) after waiting days for Russian troops to allow them to leave.

สล็อตออนไลน์ Don't take your own feelings as a place at stake. Because sometimes it's too much confidence in your feelings.

Mariupol, now mostly Russian-controlled, has been flattened during the 80-day-old war. Ukraine has gradually been evacuating civilians from the devastated city for more than two months.

Refugees first had to get out of Mariupol and then somehow make their way to Berdyansk - some 80km further west along the coast - and other settlements before the 200km drive northwest to Zaporizhzhia.

Nikolai Pavlov, a 74-year-old retiree, said he had lived in a basement for a month after his apartment was destroyed. A relative using "secret detours" managed to get him out of Mariupol to Berdyansk.

"We barely made it, there were lots of elderly people among us ... the trip was devastating. But it was worth it," he said after the convoy arrived in the dark.

An aide to Mariupol's mayor had earlier said the convoy numbered between 500 to 1,000 cars, representing the largest single evacuation from the city since Russia's Feb 24 invasion.

Iryna Petrenko, 63, said she had stayed initially to take care of her 92-year-old mother, who subsequently died.

Death toll climbs to five in central China building collapse

The official Xinhua news agency reported on Thursday that the death toll now stands at five, up from two previously. In addition, 10 people have been pulled from the rubble alive.

The tenth survivor was found conscious at approximately 12am, Xinhua said.

Authorities have alleged that surveyors falsified a safety audit of the building, which Xinhua classified as "a self-built" structure.

UN to debate move to limit veto power of Security Council permanent members

Liechtenstein is to convene the UN General Assembly on Tuesday (Apr 19) to debate a draft resolution - backed by Washington - requiring the five permanent members of the Security Council to justify their use of the veto.

ทดลอง เล่น สล็อต ฟรี An old idea aimed at making permanent members cut back use of their veto powers, it has been revived by Russia's recent invasion of Ukraine.

Moscow's veto power has allowed it to paralyse action in the Security Council, which is supposed to intervene in such conflicts as guarantor of global peace, as defined by the Charter of the United Nations.

The Liechtenstein proposal, co-sponsored by some 50 countries including the United States but, significantly, none of the other four permanent members of the Security Council - Russia, China, France and Britain - should be the subject of an upcoming vote, according to diplomats.

The Security Council also has 10 non-permanent members, who do not have the right of veto.

The proposal text, obtained by AFP, provides for a convocation of the 193 members of the General Assembly "within 10 working days of the casting of a veto by one or more permanent members of the Security Council, to hold a debate on the situation as to which the veto was cast".

Beccy Stacey is allowed to visit her parents at a North Somerset care home during a coronavirus outbreak, but the rest of her family are not.

She said the home was in "rolling lockdown" due to rising infections and her parents were "lonely and upset".

The Department for Health and Social Care said outbreak measures were in place "to protect the most vulnerable".

Ms Stacey said her parents, Avril and Royston, were the "forgotten victims" of the pandemic and had been left "distressed" they were unable to see extended family for the third Easter in a row at St Monica's Trust residents village in Sandford.

She said she wanted guidance for managing visits during outbreaks to be "removed completely".

"They are missing out on family life, their friends, my brother and sister, grandchildren. They are just being left behind from society," she said.

Ms Stacey added: "Dad gets very emotional and upset. When I leave him he's sobbing.

"It's causing loneliness. It's heartbreaking as he's missing out on family occasions and there's no end in sight."

Government guidance recommends that during an outbreak in a care home, there should be one "essential care giver" and that "outbreak restrictions may be lifted if 10 days have passed since the onset of symptoms in the most recent case of infection".

Local authorities across China, which mostly managed to keep COVID-19 at bay for the last two years, are stepping up coronavirus control measures, including movement restrictions, mass testing and new quarantine centres.

Cities that jumped into action this week included Zhengzhou, in central Henan province, which on Thursday said it would test all 12.6 million residents after finding a few asymptomatic cases in recent days.

Beijing has strengthened regular screening for employees in the city's key sectors, requiring all staff at elderly care agencies, schools and institutions handling imported goods to take tests at least once a week.
